Boys playing marbles in the school yard of the September 15 school for grades 2-6. The school is named for the date of Costa Rican Independence from Spain.

Girls posing for the American visitors...

Josh and Josiah did an opening attention getter shtick based on Josh's worldfamous Mr. Sabre routine.

The fighting drama always captures the attention of young audiences.

Lynn shared with the kids about her school and kids in the US.  She then talked about how Jesus can be your closest friend.  Michael told the kids it was her birthday and she got the great birthday present of all the Costa Rican kids singing to her!

We had wondered when we entered the public school if we would find the freedom to speak openly about God and faith that we had found in the DR in the public schools (so very different from the US!) and indeed we did.  The testimonies of Lynn, Tobi, and Whitney, and those of our partners from the Ciudad de Dios church all were able to speak freely with no resistance whatever.

Back home, Ligia, our cook, had a special meal prepared for Lynn's birthday, so we enjoyed dinner and birthday cake with Lynn.
