Costa Rica Mission, 2005
Mon., July 18, Serenade, Short term team flies home, free day
When we returned home from the Telemanca area, and had put away our equipment, bedding and suitcases, we relaxed and bit and then headed to bed for a good night's rest...only to be called by Estaban out to the balcony...where we saw candles and heard serenades from our Tico friends...It was a wonderful gesture which touched our hearts... We enjoyed the honor of what is a Latin custom.......this led to a time of socializing, gift-giving, and final goodbyes....for now!

The intern team prepared a special surprise for the short termers...Lisa told them they were to run at the normal time... But she said it would be a different route...they were to follow the flags. At the first flag Robert had his computer and was playing the music we play at dramas...he handed out the gospels of John to each runner, with a note from Lisa, thankingd them for their service...Rachel and Whitney gave them special notes and made balloon "crowns" to assure them there would be a reward for their service...David said they provided sweetness to the Ticos and gave them sweet cookies...Josh told them they had refreshed people and gave them water...Lynn prepared a special breakfast of French toast and fruit...and when they came to the table there name was at their place symbolizing their name being written in Heaven, at a banquet feast with Jesus! |

Enjoying their special meal before final packing and the trip to the airport... |
|
|
Some Tico friends even stopped by breakfast to say a final goodbye! |

The bus gets ready to take them to the airport... |

And as one group leaves, another comes. Lisa's mom Ruth and her friend Barb arrived from Illinois today, to do some touring while we head for Nicaragua tomorrow... |
