July 16-17 Cabecar Indians, 3
Here Michael introduces to us the Cabecar pastor and his family... |
Here is Michael with Louis, the man who travels the long journey to the Cabacar Indians every few weeks to provide the food and clothing |
It was a worship service with lots of singing, and joy in the Lord. |
Many of the Cabecar Indians came forward at the end of the service to be prayed for and to rejoice in the presence of the Lord that was filling the church... |
Here is the nearby Catholic Church, Grano de Oro, where the boys slept... |
wall to wall... |
shoe to shoe in the entranceway...! |
Michael wakes everyone at 7am for a devotional... |
After breakfast and a bus ride, we then hike for an hour into another area of Cabecars. |
The hike was lovely. In front of lumber scraps this rocket-ship-shaped conifer grows upward... |
In the small chapel Caleb translates his brother Orion in a short worship... |
Junior and Josiah enjoy the sights...soon to take a swim in a pool in the river, which was a steep climb down... |
Chris talks to a horse... |
Lynn embraces a little Indian boy. We never get the chance to do our program for this second Indian group. Clouds threaten and our drivers make it known that they will not drive on the dirt road (an hour from the paved road) if it is raining. If we don't get out, we will have to spend another night. If spend another night
So we decide to head out of the village before an afternoon shower. Yesterday it started raining at 2pm and quit about 2am the next morning... We talked with several of the Ticos and told them that this outreach will remain unfinished...unless they make plans to go back and do a drama program there and minister to the Cabecar people... |
